Sternbergia lutea

Sternbergia lutea, also known as the Autumn Daffodil, has a resemblance to both a crocus and a small daffodil. Its foliage appears at the same time as the flowers and persists through until the spring. It should be planted in a warm sunny position. While quite expensive and often difficult to obtain, the deep golden yellow flowers and bright foliage these bulbs provide are always worth the effort. Even starting with just a few, they are extremely floriferous and will easily multiply year to year.
