For optimal growth, plant your bulbs 15cm deep in well-drained soil in a sunny open position. It’s essential to plant them on their side to prevent water from gathering and causing bulb rot as new shoots develop from the indentation. To encourage abundant flowering in future years, apply a dressing of sulphate of potash during the spring and autumn.
