    About Puschkinia

A dozen bells to a spike

Charming and very popular plant which can bear a dozen or more bells on a strong spike. The florets are pale silver blue with a deep prussian blue line down the centre of each petal, which is the detail that makes it worth planting where you can see it properly.

    Left to itself

Flowering March to April at about 10cm. Plant 5cm deep in the rockery or in thin grass, where it will quietly naturalise. It asks for nothing and is one of the cheapest ways of getting blue into a spring garden.

The bulbs supplied by Bloms cost the most, gave the most flowers (26), were of top quality and had the potential of doubling themselves next year. The trials indicated that you get what you pay for.
