Kaufmanniana Hybrids
These tulips flower early in the spring and create a fantastic display in pots, containers and borders. They are also known as Waterlily Tulips. That can multiply naturally and have the capability to return year on year if they are planted in a suitable spot.

The waterlily tulips
Tulip praestans, greigii and the kaufmanniana hybrids, the waterlily tulips, are superb standalone garden plants for early spring, sturdy and relatively short, and both can be good naturalisers.

Where to put them
They are invaluable in the rock garden, in containers, and even when used as underplanting for some of their taller cousins. The species and dwarf tulips are ideal for the patio where their detail and form can really be appreciated at close quarters.
