Umbellatum carries shiny white upward facing stars in May and is an excellent naturaliser; nutans is silvery grey and pale green, quietly distinguished rather than showy.
For the vase, and for a pot
Kyiv carries long pyramidal heads packed with glistening white florets marked with a green stripe, and cuts superbly. The dubium forms in orange, yellow and pink want the warmest, best drained spot you can give them, or a pot where their long lasting flowers can be enjoyed close to.
