About Nectaroscordum

Sicilian honey garlic

Related to the Allium family, these plants make large umbels of bell shaped flowers on long curving pedicels. A superb cut flower, with garlic scented foliage that you will only notice if you tread on it. Siculum flowers May to June at about 90cm and is beloved of bees.

Afterwards

The pendent florets of caramel cream and reddish brown turn upright as the seed heads form, and those heads stand well into the autumn, so it is worth resisting the urge to cut them down. Plant 10cm deep in sun and leave undisturbed. Tripedale, soft rose merging to blush pink, is expensive but truly exclusive.
