Chionodoxa
No Spring bulbs are so admirably adapted for naturalising as the Chionodoxa, flowering as it does while the grass is still short, and seeding freely as well as increasing at the root. A mass of Chionodoxa in all its glory is of almost inimitable beauty.

Glory of the snow
No spring bulbs are so admirably adapted for naturalising as the Chionodoxa, flowering as it does while the grass is still short, and seeding freely as well as increasing at the root. A mass of Chionodoxa in all its glory is of almost inimitable beauty.

Where to put them
Flowering in March at about 10cm. Plant 5cm deep in the rockery or in thin grass and leave it to seed about; few small bulbs settle in so willingly. Forbesii is Cambridge blue with a large distinct white centre and much liked by butterflies, luciliae is gentian blue with a lavender flush, and there are white, rose and violet forms besides.
