Description

A variety which has stood the test of time, with an imposing large rounded head of violet purple. Flowering in early summer at about 75cm. Plant 10cm deep in autumn in a sunny well drained spot; the seed heads carry the show on long after the colour fades.

Far better value planted as bulbs in the autumn, as Chris reminds his readers, than bought in growth in spring.
