Royal Standard

The red hot poker, carrying dense spikes of orange and yellow above grassy foliage from May to July. A compact form at about 30cm, so it will sit at the front of a border where the taller kniphofias would not. Full sun or a little shade, and free draining soil; it dislikes a wet winter far more than a cold one.
