Acidanthera
Acidanthera Bulbs
Acidanthera bulbs, or Abyssinian gladiolus, are elegant and fragrant perennials that produce clusters of star-shaped white flowers with purple blotches in late summer and early autumn. These exotic plants originate from Africa and need a sunny and sheltered position to thrive. Acidanthera bulbs take a long time to develop and, as a rule, don’t flower until September, but they are well worth the wait for their stunning display and heavenly scent. Acidanthera bulbs prefer moist but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. They are hardy but need protection from frost in colder areas. Acidanthera bulbs are ideal for adding colour and fragrance to borders and containers. Acidanthera bulbs can be propagated by seed or division after flowering.
