    About Large Cupped Daffodils

Division 2 is where most of the classic garden daffodils sit. The proportions are the whole definition, and within them there is enormous variety, from Fortune and Carbineer in strong yellows and oranges through to the pinks of Romance and Pink Charm.

Ice Follies is probably the best known of them, opening yellow and fading almost to white as it ages. Most stand around 40 to 45cm.

Where Large Cupped Daffodils Do Best

These are among the larger flowering sorts we would choose to give a focal point in a herbaceous border or shrubbery, and they are equally good for mass formal planting. If you want the pink cupped varieties to develop their colour properly, give them a sunny aspect.

    When Do They Flower?

March through to May, so with a little planning this division alone will carry you through most of the season.
