Large cupped daffodils have a cup longer than a third of the petals but shorter than the petals themselves. Division 2. It is the biggest division we grow, and it holds many of the finest garden daffodils.

Division 2 is where most of the classic garden daffodils sit. The proportions are the whole definition, and within them there is enormous variety, from Fortune and Carbineer in strong yellows and oranges through to the pinks of Romance and Pink Charm.
Ice Follies is probably the best known of them, opening yellow and fading almost to white as it ages. Most stand around 40 to 45cm.
These are among the larger flowering sorts we would choose to give a focal point in a herbaceous border or shrubbery, and they are equally good for mass formal planting. If you want the pink cupped varieties to develop their colour properly, give them a sunny aspect.
March through to May, so with a little planning this division alone will carry you through most of the season.
