Zephyranthes
Rain lilies wait for weather. A dry spell, then a proper downpour, and up come the crocus shaped flowers in a rush, summer through autumn. The white candida is the tough one, happy for good at the foot of a warm wall. 7cm deep, full sun, soil that drains. Cold garden? Pots, or lift them. The bulbs are small, so be generous; a dozen make the point where three would whisper.
