Schizostylis
Schizostylis, the kaffir lily, is at its best from September into November, just as the borders begin to empty. A moist rich soil and a sunny position suit it, and once settled it spreads into generous clumps that can be split every few years. Cut it for the vase; few autumn flowers last as well.
