Dwarf Gladioli
The dwarf gladioli flower from early June, well ahead of their tall cousins, on stems that need no staking. The colvillei and nanus sorts are altogether daintier plants, at home among early perennials in the border and charming in pots. Give them a sunny well drained spot and they ask little else. In favoured gardens the corms can stay in the ground with a covering of mulch; elsewhere lift them in autumn as you would the large flowered kinds.
